Treatment Options for Female Orgasmic Disorder
Though there might be more options for treatment, I found two main treatment options:
Medicine:

According to the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry,
Sildenafil Citrate has worked for women with anorgasmic (inability to
reach orgasm). This medicine works in collaboration with
SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) that work with neurons
in the brain that control neurotransmitters. SSRIs increase the
amount of serotonin in the brain. According to the article, there
is no published treatment using Sildenafil Citrate without SSRIs.
More research should definitely be conducted on the use of this
drug, however these findings are hopeful towards future medicinal options to treat FOD.
Sex Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy:
Sex Therapy is, by far, the most common source of treatment for FOD. A
couple would undergo sex therapy in order to effectively increase
communication about intercourse and sexual activities (Kelly et al.,
84). By exploring the woman's wants, needs, and desires, the
couple might better discover what it takes to make her achieve an
orgasm. "Homework" is usually assigned in sex therapy. The
couple is assigned tasks to complete at home that supplement what was
covered in the session, such as exploring sensitive (non-genital) areas
of the body without partaking in intercourse and therefore eliminating
its associated anxiety.
Also, if there are
any negative thoughts, emotions, or feelings about sex, as Dr. Birnbaum
found in his study, then cognitive-behavioral therapy can help change
the woman's (or couple's) mindset about sex and his/her role in sex.
