Register for Internship - EDCI 689 for 3, 6 or 9 semester hours, depending on how many credits you need.  Six credit hours allows students to be eligible for financial aid.  Nine credit hours is considered regular full-time.  Regardless of how many internship hours you enroll in, all MAT interns must participate in an on-line discussion group.

Semester/year for internship to take place:

The MAT internship generally should occur during the last semester of the program, or when the student is nearing the end of the MAT program and has completed all or most of the coursework.  (Lateral-entry teachers may be on an individualized timetable.)  The MAT internship requires a semester-long commitment in the appropriate grade level and subject.  To take the internship, students should enroll in at least one section of internship, unless advised to take additional sections.  Interns must enroll in the online internship support course and participate in required components, including discussions, postings, etc.  The online internship support course provides a support system, teaching resources, and help with working through the MAT portfolio.
