Peer Teaching Lab Reflection

Respond to the following questions when you reflect on your Teaching Lab.  This reflection should be word-processed and turned in no later that one week from your teaching date.

1. Watch the video tape of your lesson.  Transcribe every word (sound) that you say during the lesson.
    You may hand write this part of the reflection. 10 points.

2. Discuss any mannerisms that you may notice about your teaching (i.e., use of fillers like um and ahh,
    mono-tone voice, teacher movement throughout the lesson, teacher positioning to see students practicing
    skills, teacher use of questions, etc.)  5 points.

3. Briefly discuss how you established an environment for learning.  Think about your managerial task
    system (if you used one, explain why or why not).  Did you use rules and/or routines for maintaining
    appropriate behavior, gym/equipment routines, stopping & listening signals, etc?  10 points.

4. Describe your introduction to the lesson.  Rate the introduction.  What could have been better about
    how you got the students’ interest in that lesson?  5 points.

5. Do a task sequence chart that will depict your use of E, R, A tasks.  Discuss the   results (i.e., lots of
    extensions, no refinements, few applications, etc.) and why.  20 points.

6. Rate your closure to the lesson.  Did you tie in the information that the students were given at the
    beginning of the lesson?  Did you ask for or give any examples?  Did you ask questions?  5 points.

7. List total time of the lesson (i.e., 14:35).  5 points
