    1. Sign in and stow your phones out of sight. Log into a Chromebook and complete the WYAW activities.

    2. Digital Stories: Confetti Compliments and Sharing in a Brave Space

    3. Google and Chrome go hand in hand and allow for some powerful tools you can use for your classroom including (Google) Classroom.

      • Let's explore how to add content to your Google Classroom (as a teacher) using the example assignments posted in your Google Classroom as a student.

      • First, look at the materials from three websites shared to Classroom
        • Teachers can add content from a website or web 2.0 tool (e.g. Quizlet) directly to Google Classroom using the "Share" option for that website. Choose the Icon or Share option >> Select Google Classroom and then choose the class(es) to which to add the resource. NOTE: You must be logged into your Classroom account for this to work.

      • Readworks.org is a powerful tool for building reading comprehension. It offers differentiated passages, support for EL learners, assessments and vocabularly support. We'll also do this in Google Classroom from a link with a code, but you can also import from your free Readworks account into your Google Classroom.

      • We'll do the NearPod activity together as a class. NOTE: Students can also use teacher created NearPods on an individual, self-paced basis. NearPod has tiers of options based on payment plans but the free or Silver option is still pretty powerful.

    4. NearPod Workshop:
      • Sign up for Nearpod as a teacher using your class account and the old fashioned way to sign up (avoid log in as Google since it's a little quirky)
      • Go to the Nearpod library.
      • Search for a pre-made lesson that fits your subject area and grade level; preview it.
      • To keep it to make changes, choose "Add to my lessons"
      • To view and edit your copy, choose "Show in my lessons" and then "Edit" (it will prompt you to make a copy)
      • MODIFY to make it your own! Add content and activities as well as modify existing slides, content, and activities.
      • Click save as you go. TIP: Create a lesson that you can use in your placement for one of the final lessons you have to teach.
      • Once the lesson is competed, post it in your Google Clasroom using the Self-Paced option and share as "Material" in your Google Classroom
      • I'll add as a student to your class and check out your lesson! (And give you points)
