  2. Digital Stories! Three compliments to our friends and excellent storymakers.

  3. Assessment with Technology:
    • Gathering data in Google Forms and viewing it in Google Sheets. You can create forms to can share via a link to gather data; we do this A LOT in our class. Some teachers use this for quizzes and homework as well.
    • Create a three question form -
      • 1) forced choice (radio button), checklist or drop-down,
      • 2) an open-ended short or long answer, and
      • 3) any other of your choice.
    • Go to Google Drive >> New >> More >> Google Forms
    • Share the link using the Shorten URL option
    • Post to Padlet (make sure to add your name at the top of your sticky) and complete the form for those at your table

    • Tools we know (Table groups - Vintage share) Brainstorm tech tools we can use for assessment (formative or summative).

    • Worksheets? What?! Use sparingly and for a purpose....

    • Log out as a student and log back in as a teacher to create your own interactive worksheets

    1. Free tool limited to 3 publications total, 200 email "sends" but this refreshes each month with another 200 sends
    2. Good for digital communication - email blasts
    3. Affordable for educators ($99/year - see if your media specialist or principal will cover it or set up a donor's choose)

    1. Choose from a limited number of backgrounds, colors, and fonts
    2. Add text to preformatted boxes
    3. Add images and embed video
    4. NOTE: To add images, you have to download and save them and then insert them into your flyer/newsletter

SMORE newsletters to communicate digitally....with families, colleagues, students, etc.

  1. Sign up for a free smore account with your class gmail.
  2. Create a smore with the topic of your choice. Make sure to finish and publish it so I can view it and give you credit.
  3. Include ALL required elements - see checklist below.
  4. Copy the live newsletter link onto your Google Sites webpage (This is Web 2.0 tool #5)
  5. Checklist for your smore newsletter: (add from buttons/options at the side of the page)
