The Classical Music Library is a collection of sound files housed under the Hunter Library collections at Western Carolina University. This collection is free to students and faculty/staff.

Here are the directions to finding Classical Music Library:

Log onto: http://www.wcu.edu

Click: Library

Click: databases

In the alpha listing – choose “c”

Scroll down to Classical Music Library and choose it.

This web site has 2 functions, which will be particularly useful to you.

1. In the upper part of the page – choose “play list folders”

You will see several folders available to you. I have prepared 4 folders. They all have the initials MKB. These have been collected for you!! Use them!!

2. You may also find the “search” button useful. When you open the search button,

there are several parameters to search for particular pieces. But, you could also

search by composer, or by genre or even by period of music. There is a limited

amount of musical theatre listening available.

Please note: Even if the listing says you can purchase it, purchasing these listening files is not possible. You may listen – that’s all.

Be aware that you may access this collection from off campus as well. However, during the log in process, you will be prompted for your user name and password.
