Musical Theatre Senior Project/Recital

Bachelor of Music Majors Only

Design a performance of at least 40 minutes in length which showcases your strengths in Musical Theatre. You must include vocal music (solos, duets and ensembles), movement, and acting in this performance.

Technical requirements such as costumes, makeup, lighting, and props are your responsibility.

The proposed contents of this performance must be submitted to the Director of Musical Theatre no later than 6 weeks before the performance date.

A hearing must be performed for your applied teacher and the Director of Musical Theater at least two weeks prior to the performance date. You should be ready to perform all of the repertoire, selections from which will be chosen at the faculty’s discretion.

The committee is chosen by the candidate and should consist of at least three faculty members, including representatives from theater, dance, and music. Your applied voice teacher cannot serve on this committee.

Your grade is determined by averaging the grades given by your committee.
