About Me

Dr. Lee Nickles is the Director of Assessment and Instructional Technology in the College of Education and Allied Professions at Western Carolina University, a position he has held since 2016. Prior to this, he served as the Assistant to the Dean for Technology and Curriculum in the college from 2006 to 2016. Dr. Nickles completed his BS and MS in Industrial Engineering at Clemson University and a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2004. He also earned a MS in Instructional Technology from East Carolina University (2020)

Dr. Nickles supports assessment and accreditation (mainly CAEP) of the academic programs and units in the college. He manages assessment data and supports reporting (state and federal) for all professional education programs. He also manages several digital systems utilized by our college, including Tk20, our electronic portfolio system. He is also the college's primary liaison to campus IT. He has taught classes and served on thesis/disquisition committees within the college.
