Halibut Fishing Production Function Estimation
      source: Comitini & Huang, A Study of Production and Factor Shares in the Halibut Fishing Industry, JPE, Aug, 1967.

  Specification 1  lnQ = -1.301 + 0.120 lnK + 0.809 lnL + 0.498 lnC

  Q = catch landed
  K = index of extent of utilization of the boat
    (apparently sum of daily depreciation rate)
  L = # fishermen aboard boat * # days fished for halibut
  C = density of fish = catch per skate
     A skate is a set of short branch lines fitted with hooks and attached to a main trunkline.
    Skates are spaced about 13 feet apart.  Data corrected for idiosyncrasies of different boats.

Specification 2

lnQ = -.00595 t + .121 lnK + .702 lnL + .495 lnC + .993 M1 + .897 M2 + .773 M3

  M1 = 1 if captain rated excellent
  M2 = 1 if captain rated good
  M3 = 1 if captain rated average
