Try the following: x = [1 1 1 1 1], and then try [X, omega] = dtft(x, -3, 0.01), then try plot(omega, abs(X)), and then plot(omega, angle(X)) -- Hint: x is a rect function, and as you will see, the magnitude plot shows a sinc function!!!
