Padraig Acheson

Mr. Acheson is a former Production Manager with NBC News and Operations Producer with the NBC Television Network in New York City. He has served in management positions for ABC News and the CBS Television Network in New York and Los Angeles. His assignments with the news divisions of ABC, CBS and NBC have taken Mr. Acheson abroad where he has supervised Presidential trips to China, Southeast Asia and numerous locations in Europe. Mr. Acheson’s news activity has permitted him to work with network correspondents such as Roger Mudd, John Chancellor, Tim Russert and Tom Brokaw. While working with CBS Sports, Mr. Acheson traveled extensively supervising coverage of NASCAR races, PGA matches, NFL games and USTA championships.
Mr. Acheson holds a bachelor’s degree in English-Drama from
Pfeiffer University. Following his 30 year career in network television he
entered Virginia Commonwealth University where he served as Graduate Assistant
in Technical Theatre and Adjunct Instructor in Mass Communications. He holds
a Master of Fine Arts degree from VCU and joined the faculty of Western Carolina
University in 2002. He is now the Director of Studio Operations in the Center
for Applied Technology and an Assistant Professor.
