Environmental Geology is the application of geologic principles and knowledge to a wide spectrum of topics defined by interactions between people and the physical Earth.  Topics of study in Environmental Geology include water resources, river processes and flooding, waste disposal, soil and water pollution, groundwater, coastal processes and coastal erosion, global climatic change, landslides, natural hazards such as volcanoes and earthquakes, energy and mineral resources, and land use.  This course provides a basic understanding of geologic hazards and resources, the interactions of people and our environment, and the way we look at our world.
