NOTICES FOR MAT STUDENTS

See your advisors for help with registration and program planning.  Click the MAT Handbook, below, to access program planning info.

Program Planning.  It is important to plan well to successfully complete your program.  Information is available on the MAT website links as well as in the University documents such as the Graduate School website and the Graduate catalog.  Students are responsible for following University policies and deadlines.

Internship Planning.  You should plan to do your internship during your final semester, and that takes prior planning.  The internship application and autobiography are due early the semester before the internship (the last Friday in September and the last Friday in September).  At the same time you apply for your internship, you should also apply for graduation.  If you miss application deadlines, you may have to stay in graduate school longer than you had planned. You have to be enrolled in at least one credit hour during the semester you graduate, including summer.

Internship Registration: Interns must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours during the internship semester.  MAT students with concentrations in Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics and Social Science must register for EDCI 689 (supervised internship) & EDCI 695 (virtual internship seminar). MAT students in ART, MUSIC or TESOL, must register for their internship in the major department plus the virtual seminar (EDCI 695). Contact Dr. Tapley, Dr. Bauer or Dr. Rogers for course and section numbers for your internship. If you need 9 credit hours to qualify for financial aid, you may enroll in an extra section of EDCI 689.
