Last day to withdraw from a course for mental health, medical, legal, or administrative reasons.

Deadline to have met with host teacher and scheduled practicum. For lateral entry teachers, deadline to set up plans to be observed by school personnel and to be videotaped.

Students may begin teaching practicum - One 90 min lesson followed by three 90 min lessons or some approved adaptation.

Lesson plan for one 90 minute lesson due on the night of your microteach schedule. Be prepared to do a Microteach lesson in class where you role play teaching a class for a brief time.

Finish observations of host classroom or other classrooms for lateral teachers.

How do you engage students in your lesson? Use VARIETY & CREATIVITY!!!

You will be presenting your microteach lessons.

Continue Microteach.

Add modifications to your lesson plan. That is, modify the lesson plan to meet the needs of a student with a learning disability, a specific reading or writing problem and a behavior problem.

If approved, students may begin the practicum and teach one period in the assigned classroom this week � One 90 min lesson. Observations must be completed prior to teaching.

Good discipline comes partly as a result of good teaching and planning ahead of time how you can most effectively handle situations.
