This is a second semester calculus
course covering the fundamentals in integration and infinite series in
addition to methods for approximating functions and solving
differential equations. Students taking this class are expected
to be proficient with limits, derivatives and deriviative applications.
Course Goals
- To continue the study of calculus of one variable begun in MATH
153;
- To provide a rigorous course in the integral calculus of one
variable;
- To introduce and familiarize students with applications of
integrals; and
- To acquaint students with the tools to analyze infinite series.
Course Topics
- Symbolic and Numerical Techniques of Integration (Chapters 6
& 7)
- Applications of Integrals (Chapter 8)
- Infinite Series (Chapter 9)
- Approximating Functions (Chapter 10)
- Vectors (Chapter 13)
- Polar and Parametric Equations (Appendix B & Section 3.8)
