Turn left at Dillsboro on 441 South.  Take first Franklin exit and turn right.  Hospital on right

approximately 2 miles.

 

Cherokee Dialysis

Take Hwy 74 West to Exit 74 towards Cherokee.  Go 4 miles to the dead end and turn left.  Go approximately 2 miles and turn right on McCoy Branch Road.  There will be a sign for DaVita Dialysis Center.  The road will fork twice—proceed to the left each time.  Dialysis Center will be on the right.

I-40 East to I-26 East in Asheville.  Take I-26 East until Hwy 74 East.  Take Hwy 74 East and exit onto I-85 North toward Charlotte.  Take exit 17 (US 321) and go to bottom of the ramp and turn right.  Go to second traffic light and turn right onto Davidson Street.  Go up the hill 4 blocks to Highland Street.  The base is the concrete and brick building with a blue metal roof at the corner of Highland and Davidson Streets.

Base 3:  I-40 east to Wendover Ave east exit.  After taking exit, cross back over I-40 on Wendover, then turn left at 2nd stoplight (Meadowood).  EMS Headquarters is on the left.  Park in back lot past the fuel pumps.  Enter through door across from fuel pumps.

23/74 bypass to West Waynesville exit.  Turn right at yield sign, turn left at stop light onto Balsam Road, cross railroad tracks and turn left at first stop light.  Pass State Corrections Facility and turn left on Hemlock Street, EMS station is approximately 100 yards on left, white block building.  452-4771

 

Medic 4 (Shift change 07:00)

I-40 east to exit 31.  Turn right onto Champion Drive and go approximately 1 mile.  Cross railroad tracks and base is on left at stoplight just past the Champion Paper Mill. 648-5333

 

Medic 7  (Shift change 08:00)

23/74 bypass to Maggie Valley exit onto Dellwood Road, continue on 4-lane to the stop light and turn left onto Hwy 19 to Maggie Valley.  Once you enter Maggie Valley the 4 lane will begin and the unit is stationed at the fire department which is approximately 1/4 mile on the left, immediately past J. Arthur’s restaurant.  926-0948

Main Base

I-40 east to I-26.  Take I-26 to the Mountain Home/Fletcher exit #13.  Turn right.  Go approximately 5.9 miles and turn right onto Highway 191.  Take an immediate left on Justice Street.  Go approximately 4 blocks.  Pardee Hospital in on the right and the EMS base is on the left.

 

Substation

I-40 east to I-26 east.  Take 1-26 east to exit #9 (airport exit) and turn right at the top of the ramp.  Go past the airport approximately 2 miles.  The base is on the left in a large brick building at the corner of Vance Hill Road.  Park Ridge is on the front of the building.

 

Mission-St. Joseph’s Health System

 

I-40 to Highway 25 North (exit 50, marked by hospital sign).  Follow hospital signs for approximately 3 miles.  MMH on the left and SJH on the right.

 

 

NC Jaycee’s Burn Center

Following directions to UNC Hospitals (below), the burn center is on the 5th floor.  Use phone at door to inform staff of your arrival and ask to see the charge nurse.

I-26 to S.C. exit 15 (Hwy 176).  Take 176 into Spartanburg (approx. 11 miles).  Go past hospital sign and go through approx. 9 stoplights and turn right onto Marion Avenue, which is just past Wendy’s on the right.  Once on Marion Avenue, Hodge Carpet is on the left.  Turn left just behind their parking lot.  Headquarters is the shiny, aluminum building.

From Asheville, take I-40 east to Greensboro.  Take I-85 to Burlington and look for highway 54 exit.  Take highway 54 to Chapel Hill.  Turn left on Manning Drive (hospital sign).  Go approximately 1 mile, hospital is on the right and parking deck on the left.  Or, you may take I-40 east almost to Durham, taking exit 270 (highway 15-501, marked by hospital sign).  Follow 15-501 for 7 miles then turn right onto Manning Drive.  Upon entering the hospital through the main entrance, go to the 8th floor.  Air Care office and helipad are on the roof.
