GRADUATE
ASSISTANTSHIPS
for 2008-2009
are anticipated in the
following areas:
TRUMPET HORN TROMBONE TUBA
Stipend: $7000 (20 hours/week) or $3500 (10
hours/week)
Teaching or research assistantships are available to
qualified graduate students. Assistantships provide students with supervised
teaching, performing and work experiences in music while offsetting the cost of
a graduate degree. Duties will include service in the WCU Graduate Brass
Quintet as well as work in one or more of the following areas: teaching in the
major area studio; assisting in the band, choral, or commercial/electronic
programs; assisting with music theory, history, education or piano lab classes;
accompanying; assisting in faculty research projects; other duties as assigned
by the School of Music. Out of state students may apply for an out-of-state
tuition waiver.
The application and audition
deadline is March 15, 2008.
Auditions
will be held at Western Carolina University and must be performed before 15
March 2008.
