The Title of Newspaper FAX: 302-324-2554 SUBJECT: Classified Advertisement Bill; Letter of Complaint During the second week of July, 2003, I placed a five-day advertisement in the (Title of Newspaper) Classifieds for a 1986 Oldsmobile Calais. I prepaid the order, over the phone, using my credit card. Subsequently, I have received several bills for the ad (see enclosures). On September 14, 2003, I sent the enclosed letter to Debbie Noname, along with a copy of my credit card bill verifying payment information. After speaking with her twice, she informed me that I had been over-billed initially (for $20.24, rather than for $15.24), that she would remove the debt from my account, and that she would credit my charge card the difference of $5.00. On October 5, 2003, I received a "Final Notice" bill for the account, which obviously had not been credited appropriately. I called Ms. Noname the morning of October 12 in order to attempt to rectify the situation yet again. She said she would call back within half an hour with the account information. I did not hear back from her that day. I am appalled at the way in which my account error has been handled. I have incurred almost as much in long distance phone bills (I have since moved from Delaware to North Carolina) as I would have paid had I just submitted to your account terrorism and sent in the additional $15.24. I apparently have little recourse but to await whatever bill collector you may send my way, and, of course, forward a complete narrative of this transaction to the appropriate Better Business Bureaus, my credit card company, and my legal counsel. Sincerely
