Week 1
                       0.  Visit the

                            Download the Programmable Logic Controllers Chapter file (pdf) .  READ AND STUDY THIS CHAPTER
                       1. 
REVIEW THE WEBSITE FROM "THE PLC TUTOR" ON PLCS
                            UP THROUH TIMERS AND COUNTERS.

                       2. 
THE FIRST LAB WILL BEGIN ON NEXT CLASS PERIOD.  IT IS STRONGLY
                            RECOMMENDED THAT YOU REVIEW AND BECOME FAMILAR WITH
                            THE PURPOSE, OBJECTIVES AND PROCEDURES FOR THE LAB PRIOR TO EACH CLASS.
                       3.  Go to the Virtual Computer Lab site at WCU shown below, and reserve Automation Studio.

                       4.  Complete Lab 1 circuit in Automation Studio and verify the system simulates correctly.

                       5.  Complete all assignments as required for Lab 1, and submit a lab report (using the specified format) by next week.




Week 2              Continue working through the PLC Tutor online tutorial.
                         Complete Lab 2 as described  Note:  This week you are given the I/O and and a basic
                         description.  Your objective is to develop a program on your own with accompanying wiring diagram.

                         Complete Lab 2 in Automation Studio (via VCL).
                         Complete Lab 2 written report using the standard format and submit by next week.


Week 3
                                Review the PLC Tutor site, particularly on timers and counters. Download the chapter (pdf file) on Timers, Counters, and more
                         
from the

                                Complete Lab 3 as described.
                          Your objective is to develop a program on your own with accompanying wiring diagram.
                          Complete Lab 3 in Automation Studio (via VCL).
                          Complete Lab 3 written report using the standard format and submit by next week.


WEEK 4                 
                          Review the PLC Tutor site and Automated Manufacturing online text as needed.
                                Complete Lab 4 as described.
                          Your objective is to develop a program on your own with accompanying wiring diagram.
                          Complete Lab 4 in Automation Studio (via VCL).
                          Complete Lab 4 written report using the standard format and submit by next week.



WEEK 5                 COMPLETE LAB 5:  THE TD-200 & STEPPER MOTOR CONTROL OF AN
                                AUTOMATED MEASURING STATION


WEEK 6                 COMPLETE LAB 6:  CLAMP AND WORK STATION CONTROL USING
                                AUTOMATION STUDIO AND AN ALLEN-BRADLEY PLC (SIMULATED)


WEEK 7                 COMPLETE
                               LAB 7:  CONTROLLING A PICK AND PLACE ROBOT USING A PLC
                               USING AUTOMATION STUDIO AND AN ALLEN-BRADLEY PLC.
